Could be the author had a reason for doing this deliberate misguidance, perhapsbut if so I think more time with Rex The secret hour book have made this stronger. Although he lamented the script, Roeper found the film to be a "solid action thriller with well-choreographed battle sequences and strong work from the ensemble cast". For one secret extra hour each night, a small group of teenagers is able to move about freely--even though the rest of the town around them is frozen in time. The real-life CIA chief stated that there was no stand-down order. I really didn't think I'd read another novel by this author but, one day I was in Target desperately searching for something to read when I was drawn in by the cover of The Secret Hour.

Soon after the move, Jessica awakens to find time frozen and rain stopped in mid air. This is the world that Jessica comes into from the realms of the normal. Time freezes. Jessica is rescued by the "Midnighters": DessRex and Melissawho chase away the animals using thirteen letter words and steel.

Nice story! As Kate helps the O'Rourkes heal from the loss of their mother, she falls in love with the trio. She now must face the dark creatures, and find her place within this enchanted and dangerous hour. For years the Midnighters and the dark creatures have shared the secret hour, uneasily avoiding one another. Kate's searching for her sister Willa, who's been missing for six months after a huge fight they had. She acts perfectly normal in every way.

For years the Midnighters and The secret hour book dark creatures have shared the secret hour, uneasily avoiding one another. A couple of quibbles: while I like all the characters so far and The secret hour book really mind the multiple narrators, I think reducing the number of POVs would have made the narrative stronger.

For one secret hour each night, the town belongs to the dark creatures that haunt the shadows. Likely due to a boost from the U. This story is about so much more then the mystery of what happened to Willa. I really enjoyed this book. Does his client have something to do with her missing sister?

To view it, click here. So might Wow! This book is heavy into math, similar to how Peeps was heavy into biology and parasites. The synopsis intrigued me and, having read two of her other books decided why not. Just One Gripe: The emphasis on thirteen letter words was pretty corny. It, along with other slithers and a darkling in the form of a large cat, attacks her.

I noticed this happening so many times within the first 7 pages that I decided to keep a tally as I was reading. The next midnight, Jonathana boy from Jessica's school, arrives outside her house, and takes her flying with him - he is an Acrobat, and in the Secret Hour gravity does not have a strong hold on him.

Well, I'm sorry. Scott Westerfield has a knack for the original. If you'll bear with us, we'd so appreciated us. I haven't read all her books, but I've enjoyed the ones I have.
